Perhaps you are experiencing stress, low-self esteem, the effects of trauma, bereavement or depression. Maybe you feel that something isn't quite 'right'. If so, psychotherapy could be used to help you gain self-acceptance, and a deeper understanding of what makes you 'tick' and what doesn't.
Psychotherapy is typically a weekly meeting of fifty minutes, often over a medium to long term. With time and commitment, we aim to build what may be called a 'therapeutic alliance' that allows you to feel able to safely explore and eventually understand and come to terms with difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences (both current and past.)
There is no 'prescription' or quick and easy way to feel better or differently in therapy. Every individual's life experience is their own and calls for an approach that is equally as unique. What is on offer is a space and time devoted to the you that can be used in whatever way you wish, knowing that whatever is said and explored will not be judged, will be held with care and professionalism and remains confidential.
